But there is also lots of good food. The Bouchard-Pierce booth served up chicken chili, a fried thai shrimp dish, and even chocolate dessert. A tasty spin to the usual sales pitch.

"The chicken chili’s always been a big favorite so I bring it every year but we’ve got a dish called Panang Gai. It’s a Thai curry. Panang is a small island off the coast of Thailand. We’re doing a Vietnamese shrimp cake, and then later on we do a Thai basil beef," said chef Chef Jim Zipka.

"It’s just a fun thing to do, it’s great to get out," said June Stec of Essex.

The Home and Garden Show runs through Sunday evening.
