R. Balki is an Indian director and advertising filmmaker. He made his directorial debut with the critically and commercially successful film Cheeni Kum (2007), which put Balki on the road to widespread fame. He then directed the smash hit Paa (2009), which was nominated for almost every award. Balki then produced the widely popular film English Vinglish (2012), which was directed by Gauri Shinde. Balki returned to the director’s seat once more with the film Shamitabh (2015). He is the director and writer for the upcoming film Ki and Ka which is all set to release in April, 2016.
