It is a colourful treat made up of mangoes and lychees filled in steamed dumplings.


Milk 150 ml
Water 150 ml
Baking powder 2 tsp
Castor sugar 1 tbsp
Flour 400 gms
Mango (small) 1 number
Lychees (peeled, seeded) 115 gms
Ground almonds 1 tbsp
Orange juice 4 tbsp


  1. In a bowl add the milk ,water , baking powder, sugar and mix well.
  2. Add the flour to it and make a soft dough and keep it aside in a warm place for an hour.
  3. Peel and chop half the mango pulp along with the lychees and ground almonds and let stand for about 20 mins.
  4. Blend the remaining mango together with orange juice into a smooth puree.
  5. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces and roll each piece into 3 inch rounds.
  6. Spoon the mango lychee mixture in the centre and bring the dough around the fruit to the top to make a purse.
  7. Steam them in a steamer for 20-25 mins.
  8. Dust with cinnamon powder and icing sugar .
