May be served hot or cold the pears are moist after poaching in sugar and allspice powder.
|Pears (ripe, large)
|All spice powder
|Light brown sugar
- Peel, core and cut the pears into halves.
- In a sauce pan, place the pears along with orange, all spice, raisins and sugar.
- Dissolve the sugar and boil it for 1 mins.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 mins until the pears are cook but still firm.
- Serve with hot syrup or chill and serve with ice cream.
