It is a delicious pork preparation, sweet and sour in taste, easy to make.


Lean pork 225 gms
Brandy / whisky 2 tsp
Vegetable oil 250 ml
Egg (beaten) 1 number
Plain flour 2 tbsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Pepper 1/2 tsp


Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Onion (diced) 1 number
Carrot (diced) 1 number
Green pepper (seeded, diced) 1/2 number
Light soy sauce 1 tbsp
Sugar 3 tsp
Wine vinegar 3 tsp
Tomato puree 1 tbsp
Chinese stock 3-4 tbsp
Cornflour paste 1 tbsp


  1. Marinate the cubes of pork with salt, pepper and brandy or whisky for 15 – 20 mins.
  2. In a preheated wok heat oil. Place the pork cubes in a bowl with the beaten egg and turn to coat. Sprinkle the flour over them and turn the pork cubes until well coated.
  3. Deep fry the pork in batches for about 3-4 mins until golden brown.
  4. For sauce heat oil in a pre heated wok and add the vegetables and stir fry for about 1 min. Add the seasonings and tomato puree with the stock and bring to boil. Thicken it with corn flour paste.
  5. Add the pork and blend well.
  6. Serve hot.
