Day trip to a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery as part of the Yoga TTC package in Rishikesh
This is a day trip that is part of the Yoga Teacher Training Course Trips, that I organize to India.
During the month (RYS 200) there are four days off -- each Sunday. And each Sunday we adventure out of Rishikesh, or go rafting, etc. All of them are included in the package.

One of our destinations is the Tibetan Settlement in Uttarakhand.

As Rishikesh is colourful, loud, dirty and crowded, this Tibetan settlement in the outskirts of Dheradun, the capital of Uttarakhand is very very Zen.
There is a large Buddhist Monastery, the world biggest Stupa and a huge golden Buddha Statue, that was given to the Settlement by His Holiness, Dalai Lama the 14th.
It also a home for Tibetans, so it has café, restaurants, articraft shops, etc.

Spending a day there makes you completely forget Rishikesh and the possible stress of the Yoga Teacher Training. Your soul will rest in Peace there : )
