Australian cricketers Phil Hughes Struck on Head, Rushed to Hospital
Australian batsman Phil Hughes is reportedly in a serious condition after being struck on his head during a Sheffield Game at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old cricketer was hit on his head by a rising fast delivery from Sean Abbott and he fell to the ground immediately. Such was the extent of the impact between the ball and the head that an ambulance had to be called in to transfer the cricketer to a hospital. Latest Australian media reports suggest that Hughes is in a serious condition and is receiving emergency treatment.
With the Test series against India coming up, Hughes was expecting a Test call to replace an injured Michael Clarke. He was in good form and had hit 63 for South Australia against New South Wales before misjudging a bouncer.
Play has been suspended for the day as fellow Australian cricketers tweeted their best wishes for the batsman.
