A record day on Wall Street with the Dow Jones skyrocketing 421 points, the S&P 500 jumping 48 and the Nasdaq putting on 104.

The Russell 2000 bounced 17 points while Canada’s main index added 132.

The VIX fell 13.5%, while the yield on the 10 year moved 7 basis points higher to settle at 2.21%.

Prices continued to move lower in the energy market, while the gold price move marginally higher.

European markets rebounded strongly as the FTSE bounced 129 points and the DAX jumped 266.

Asian markets were stronger in overnight trade as the ASX 200 put on 48 points, the Hang Seng added 246 and the Nikkei jumped 390.

In foreign exchange markets the US Dollar was stronger against the japanese yen but weaker against its other major trading partners.
