Don’t start drawing the line at the corner of the eyes. Try beginning the line from the midpoint. Particularly, don’t forget this trick when putting on eyeliner on the upper lids to give you more natural and gorgeous look. 

 

You can also go for merging the line with your lashes. The line should be made in the opposite direction with the eyelid held tightly shut if possible. Make your strokes short and stop when you have covered two thirds of the eyes. If you wish to give your eyes a dramatic look, then you should draw the outer line darker. Eyeliner application becomes convenient when you apply the eyeliner on naked lashes prior to applying other products like eye shadow. 

 

Another tip is to apply the eyeliner mixed with an eye shadow. This not only prevents smudging, but it also makes for a more natural look. Just dip the applicator into the eye shadow and put it over the dry liner. 

 

Eyeliners that are too thick tend to give you too obvious a look so unless you have a dark complexion, don’t use a black eyeliners. Instead, opt for ones that are close to the natural shade of your lashes. A color that is brighter than that of kohl always works well.

 

An eyeliner could be perfectly used to give you the sultry smoky effect. Apply the eyeliner the way you would ordinarily and smudge it with a cotton wool. Remember, if you want this look, your strokes should be on the inner lid. 

 

The applicator that you use should always be hygienic and soft. Once opened, an eyeliner stays good for around six months, after which it should be discarded; otherwise, it will cause a bacterial infection due to over usage. In case you feel constant irritation, you can go for another eyeliner brand.
