Imran Khan (born Imran Pal on 13 January 1983) is an Indian film actor who appears in Bollywood films. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, Imran Khan is the nephew of actor Aamir Khan, director-producer Mansoor Khan and the grandson of Nasir Hussain, a noted director and producer. Having made appearances as a child artist in Aamir Khan’s films Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992), Khan decided to venture into acting after graduating from the Los Angeles branch of New York Film Academy. He moved back to India and enrolled at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s acting institute, where he met director Abbas Tyrewala. Khan made his acting debut with Tyrewala’s romantic comedy Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008), which emerged as a major critical and commercial success. His performance in the film fetched him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He then appeared in several commercially successful films such as I Hate Luv Storys (2010), Delhi Belly (2011), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011) and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012). Khan married his girlfriend Avantika Malik in January 2011 after a ten year relationship.
