Lifestyle Portrait Shot Straight Into the Sun - PLP #168

In this episode I will show you how I shot a photo, straight into the sun, of a beautiful woman with her daughter in a lifestyle-type photo.

The key here is to try to do it with just classic gear, I had a 100mm lens with the Sony a7r and no flash. I did not expect to shoot this type of photo at this time and had to improvise.

The rules are:

1. Try to expose for the highlights to get that sunset feeling but just enough so that you can still have some skin detail.

2. Do not make a too small shallow depth of field as it is hard to focus in this situation.

3. Try to compose with the light so that the sun is positioned in a nice place with the subjects.

4. Find the right white balance to give it a nice sunset feel to it.
