Arjun Rampal was a struggling model from Jabalpur, India and it took him five years to become a movie star. At a high end party, being conducted at a discotheque in Delhi Arjun, he caught the eye of one of India’s most well known fashion designers, Rohit Bal. Thereafter, Rohit Bal took Arjun in his aide and promoted him extensively so he became a successful male model. From there, director-producer Rajiv Rai started promoting Arjun Rampal. Rajiv first made Arjun a part of his music video "Don’t Marry" with model Namrata Baruwah doing the female honors for the music video. Then Rajiv again cast Arjun but this time in his film. The movie was titled "Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat" (2001). He was cast alongside Kirti Reddy, Sunil Shetty and Aftab Shivdasani. However, the film flopped.
