Atul Kumar is a theatre artist, director and the head of ’The Company Theatre’. He trained in visual theatre from France. Atul directed theatrical plays such as The Respectable Prostitute (1987) and Smell (2004). He translated plays such as Moliere’s Tartuffe and Lonesco’s The Chairs into Hindi. His theatre company is known for planning, conducting theatre workshops, conferences and collaborations with international groups. Atul also appeared as an actor in movies such as Thakshak (1999), Mangal Pandey : The Rising (2005) and Mixed Doubles (2006). Kumar’s next movie Talvar is set to release in October 2015.
