Priyanka Chopra’s father passes away

National award-winning actress Priyanka Chopra�s father, Dr Ashok Chopra, passed away on Monday at a hospital in suburban Andheri after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Dr Chopra, a physician in the Indian Army, was seriously ill for a longtime. He had accompanied Priyanka to Vancouver for the TOIFA Awards earlier this year.
It was further reported by a leading daily that Dr Chopra was put on a respirator, and his actress daughter has been on his side ever since. Till last week, when her father�s condition deteriorated, Priyanka went about her work as normal. Only those close to her knew what she went through. Priyanka was attending the rehearsals for the Mary Kom biopic while attending to her father in her free time. Back in 2005, when Priyanka was shooting for Rohan Sippy�s Bluffmaster, her father fell ill. Even then, Priyanka had not shared her agony with anyone on the sets.
For over a fortnight, the actress had been by her father�s side due his illness, keeping aside all her filmi assignments.
