16
June Father's Day Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contribution that fathers and father figures make to the lives of their children. This day celebrates fatherhood and male parenting. Although it is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide, many countries observe this day on the third Sunday in June.

Father’s Day is considered to be the day of commemoration and celebration for that one person in your life who is there for you at different walks of verve, to help you out when you need him, to make you feel secure, to make available to you all pleasures of life. This day is an occasion to recall, recognize and remember those endless pains; he had taken for your growth and upbringing, that very special icon, your father or what do you call your Dad. Father’s Day is celebrated on 3rd Sunday in June. The idea for creating a day for children to honour their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. Having been raised by her father, Henry Jackson Smart, after her mother died, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June 1910.
