Britney Spears’ Las Vegas Residency Confirmed: Will it Help or Hurt Her Career?

The 31-year-old singer announced on Good Morning America Tuesday morning that she will indeed be heading to Las Vegas for the next two years.

Spears’ residency at the city’s Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will result in an expected 50 shows each year at an estimated $300,000 apiece.

That’s a lot of cash for (not really) a "Work Bitch."

"I’m going to definitely do the greatest hits but I’m going to have to put some of my new material in it to just keep it fresh," Spears said on the ABC show.

The much-anticipated news of the show, which will be called "Piece of Me," comes after the release of the singer’s latest single over the weekend.

The song, which is expected to be featured on Spears’ upcoming eighth studio album, made its official debut on Sunday after it was leaked online.

Tickets for Spears’ "Piece of Me" show are available for purchase today and include packages in which you can meet Spears, VIP tables, and gets autographs.

While extremely lucrative, is this a sign that Britney’s best days are behind her? Or will it be a springboard to bigger and better things for her?
