Miley Cyrus appears to be telling a couple contrasting tales when it comes to Liam Hemsworth.

As part of her new interview with Fashion, during which she slams the music scene as stale, Cyrus appears to open up about past trouble in her relationship with Hemsworth.

Referring to the track "Drive" on her upcoming album "Bangerz," the 20-year old tells the publication:

“I wrote it while I was working on Valentine’s Day - emotionally it was such a hard time. It is about needing to leave someone, but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It’s a time when you want to leave but you can’t."

Sounds a lot like Miley came close to splitting with Liam many months ago, doesn’t it?
