Jim Parsons won the Emmy for lead actor in a comedy series Sunday for playing ultra-geeky Sheldon Cooper on the huge CBS hit "The Big Bang Theory."
Parsons beat ouf fellow nominees Alec Baldwin ("30 Rock"), Jason Bateman ("Arrested Development"), Louis C.K. ("Louie"), Don Cheadle ("House of Lies") and Matt LeBlanc ("Episodes") for the award.
It’s Parsons’ third Emmy win in the role. He also won back-to-back Emmys in 2010 and 2011. The series, which follows the adventures of Sheldon and his geeky friends, is the top-rated comedy on TV right now.
